Ask Claude where the tailwind is

You can now ask Claude, or any AI assistant that supports MCP connectors, about the wind on Strava segments. It answers with the same numbers the app shows and links straight to the segment.

Two ways to connect

  • Without an account: ask “where’s a tailwind near Utrecht tomorrow?” and get the most-ridden segments nearby with their best window in the next 3 days, or the wind on any one segment.
  • Signed in with Strava: the assistant also reads your watchlist, tells you when the wind is best on your segments and what that would do to your PR, and can watch a segment or set your alert threshold when you ask it to.

How to set it up

In Claude, open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector and paste the URL. The docs have both URLs and every step; the signed-in URL is also in Settings → Account, with a copy button.

What it can and can’t do

  • A signed-in assistant only reaches your watchlist and alert threshold. It can’t touch your profile, payment or account.
  • Watching a segment through it works like watching it in the app, so arming your first alert can start the 7-day Pro trial.
  • Free riders see how strong each window is; when it opens and the PR verdict are Pro, as on the Dashboard. Free riders can ask about their own segments 20 times a month; Pro has no limit.
  • Settings → Account lists every connected assistant, each with a Disconnect button.
