Tailwind KOMpass is a web app for road cyclists who chase Strava personal records, KOMs and QOMs. It overlays live and forecast wind on a map of Strava segments, scores every segment by how much tailwind it gets, and tells you when the wind on the segments you care about is good enough to go for a record.
The idea is simple: on most segments, the single biggest factor you do not control is the wind. On flat and rolling terrain, a 20 km/h tailwind is often worth more than 50 extra watts. Tailwind KOMpass turns that into a plan: which segment, which day, which hour, and how much power you will need.
Tailwind KOMpass is built and run by an independent developer and cyclist, @thom_hartogg. New features and fixes are published on the changelog. Legal operator details are on the imprint.
The core product is free: the wind map, a short-range forecast, an unlimited watchlist with alerts, and three full segment analyses a month. Pro is a one-time lifetime purchase (€49 / $59) that unlocks the 72-hour forecast, unlimited analysis and advanced alerts. Arming your first alert starts a free 7-day Pro trial with no card.
